Canberra Art Workshop Inc. Canberra Art Workshop (CAW) is a community based non for profit organisation which has been operating since 1948, offering the people of Canberra and the ACT region the opportunity to learn, study and practise art in its many forms. Membership consists of 140 people who enjoy the benefits of working day or evening in a bright and well-equipped studio. CAW members are primarily aged from 50 to 80 years and programs aim to promote healthy ageing in the community. At M16, CAW also promotes inter-generational communication and understanding as members interact with young and professional artists. CAW believes that while people are learning, interacting in the community and the brain is being creatively stimulated, they will remain independent, care for one another, and maintain their mental faculties.
